Red Double Decker Buses are synonymous with London and you cannot take a trip to London and not experience London bus transport! Depending on how far you travel, fares will vary from £1.20 up to about £6 for a one day travelcard which covers bus, tube and railtrack. If you plan to take a lot of London public transport in one day this is probably the best option. Travelcards and maps are available from London Underground stations.

London Black Cabs are the only taxi cabs in London licensed to ply for hire. They are easily recognisable although can come in other colours and shapes than the usual black we are used to! London Taxi drivers must undergo rigorous training before they are allowed take up their post. Drivers are licensed by the metropolitan police, and are all required to have extensive knowledge of London which takes up to 2/3 years to obtain. It is recommended that tourists stick with the Black cabs rather than other minicabs or hackneys as they have been known to lead tourists astray!
